| 20th December 2004 I first became involved with Offer Australia in mid 1996 when they where assisting BP Australia manage the outplacement of approximately 15 employees from BP to other careers due to an outsourcing arrangement. Within a period of 2 weeks Michael Cattivera was able to place me into a leading Australian systems integration company, JNA. Literally I left BP on a Friday and started with the new company on the Monday.
After I started the new role Michael made contact every few weeks to see how I was getting along and to ensure that the new organization was a good fit. As the months went on Michael would ring every month or so and often would catch up for a coffee when our schedules would allow.
Over the last 10 years that I have known Michael he has been the only consultant that has kept abreast of my career and aspirations and has invited me to networking events and offered guidance on industry trends. When I became redundant in late 2004 Michael was instrumental in using his contacts within the industry to assist with placing me in alternative employment. It was easy for Michael to do this as we had developed a high level of trust and he had an intimate knowledge of my skill base and value proposition to potential employers.
You could argue that any consultant could perform a job placement task and you will be correct. However I believe that the ongoing relationship has been of immense value to us both.
